2020 Virtual Entertainment Night!
/2020 Virtual Entertainment, Virtual Trivia, and a Virtual Auction, Nov. 7 and Nov. 14
Covid-19 turned our traditional Trivia Night upside down. How could we have a Fun Night for family and friends sitting six feet apart and wearing masks? We had a vision but making that vision a reality meant that like everyone, we had to struggle to learn new skills. It took hard work but again and again and sometimes seemingly at the last minute, God provided people who could do the task, pictures and videos were found, questions were created, sponsors stood by to support, and auction items kept coming in.
Players from Canada, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, California, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan, and Missouri came into the main room and received instructions and questions and then went to their break-out rooms where they could visit with family and friends as they worked on the questions. At the end of each of the 5 rounds, players went back to the Main Room, answered were announced, and scores recorded.
We had 24 tables between the two nights and almost broke last year’s record of 25 tables. Our Virtual Auction netted approximately $5,500 as opposed to last year’s $3,800. Donations are still coming in. Every gift is appreciated and every prayer strengthens our efforts.
Both evenings opened with a video created by seminarian, Peter Frank. It has received many compliments and more than 400 views. It tells the story of CFNA over the past 20 years and captures the full range of emotions of our brave New Americans and faithful volunteers. Watch it and be inspired to volunteer!
Thank you CFNA friends for being determined to be there when people are hurting. Thank you for helping keep our doors open. Thank you for sharing Christ’s love in word and deed.
