Confirmation

Acts 17:11, “...in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”

I was introduced to a new Nepalese family about a year ago, who had moved from Atlanta, Georgia to St. Louis. They got connected with relatives here and went to church with them at St. Johns. Marshang and Ratna have been Christians for some time and Ratna was a leader of the church where he served.

The Lutheran service was foreign to them and they had many questions. Nabin, the leader of the Nepali group at St. Johns asked if they could join our Bible Study group on Wednesdays because he was not always sure how to answer some of their questions. They welcomed Bible study but were a little hesitant with the Catechism. Having examined the Scriptures and discussed major teachings of the Lutheran faith they were confirmed June 28th.

It was a delight to meet Rosie, the mother of Charlie and Thuy, the mother of Taovi and Trami as they picked up their children from Compass (an after school program of which St. Johns is a part). Relationships developed over the years as they attended Eagle College Prep. They soon were invited to church and agreed to have their girls confirmed.
