Lydia Knorp: CFNA Summer Intern
/Born in Metro Detroit and raised in St. Louis, Lydia recently graduated from Valparaiso University with a B.A. degree in Social Work. Our most recent staff recruit, she will be with CFNA for the summer to assist with programming related to ministry among refugees and immigrants.
With proficiency in Spanish and previous service as an intern in San Jose, Costa Rica, Lydia is no stranger to urban ministry in cross-cultural settings. Indeed, she was drawn to serve as an intern with CFNA because, in her words, “CFNA encompasses what I am most passionate about; serving among New Americans and spreading the love of Christ.”
Though she is just getting started, her passion for ministry has enabled her to quickly feel at home at CFNA. This has everything to do with serving in the company of kindred souls, those who are equally passionate about the mission. As Lydia put it, “It is incredibly meaningful to work with a team that shares my passion.” In addition to service, she also hopes to learn more about what is needed in order to effectively manage a ministry among immigrants and refugees.
While we encourage Lydia as she pursues her vision, we also thank the Lutheran Federal Credit Union for the generous grant that made her service with CFNA possible.
Please join us in welcoming Lydia to CFNA and ministry among New Americans.
