Transforming Students' Lives
/An Update on The Member-Meneh Foundation Scholarship
Editor's Note: Having fled political persecution in Wiiyaakara-Bori, Rivers State, Nigeria, Bishop Tsaro and his family – including children Lesoghia (Zo), Lezoghia, and Nadum – lived in a Benin (West Africa) refugee camp from 1997 to 1999. They resettled in Saint Louis, Missouri, in 1999, where they were warmly welcomed by Messiah Lutheran Church and CFNA. To honor CFNA’s support, The Member-Meneh Foundation (TMF) partnered with the organization to raise $20,000 annually for refugee students. As of December 2024, this year’s goal has been achieved. TMF reflects on this milestone below.
As refugees who once faced uncertainty and hardship, we understand firsthand the transformative power of education. Thanks to the support of our Lord and Savior along with organizations like CFNA, we overcame adversity and achieved our dreams. Now, we’re committed to paying it forward by founding the Member-Meneh Foundation, in partnership with CFNA.
This year’s ‘Blessing That Keeps on Blessing’ campaign marks the beginning of our ongoing commitment to providing annual support for refugees worldwide. Our goal is to raise $20,000 each year to help refugee students in need.
Launching a campaign like the ‘Blessing That Keeps on Blessing’ is no small feat. It requires identifying critical needs, building strong teams, and uniting around a shared vision. The journey is both exciting and challenging, filled with outreach, event planning, and navigating unexpected obstacles.
We are deeply grateful to TheResumePlug, Benevity, GiveLively, AUPRO, and Google for their invaluable partnerships. Their support has been essential in helping us reach our fundraising goal.
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to this cause. Your compassion is making a tangible difference in the lives of refugee students.
Together, we can help 1 million refugees achieve their dreams. By creating opportunities, celebrating milestones, and learning from setbacks, we aim to leave a lasting impact on the lives of young people everywhere. Connections truly create possibilities!
