Vacation Bible School

This year CFNA again had the opportunity to participate in Concordia Lutheran Church’s Vacation Bible School from July 12 – 15. The theme was, “Destination Dig: Unearthing the Truth About Jesus”, based on Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” The VBS reached 90 participants with 25 of those being New American children from CFNA.

One of the goals was to reach families within the church body as well as those in the community with whom they are not typically in contact. VBS leadership shared that having the children of CFNA at VBS did just that, it allowed them to reach and minister to members of a community somewhat beyond their reach.

A quote from Blessed, a nine-year-old from Congo, encompassed the impact Concordia’s VBS had within CFNA’s new American community. “I wish we could keep coming to VBS every day because it is so much fun! I will wear the cross necklace they gave me so that I can remember Jesus”.

Concordia Lutheran, we thank you for all the time and prayer you put into your VBS this year. The kids at CFNA were truly blessed by your good work and looked forward to coming every day. Hopefully, next year will provide another opportunity for something similar.
