CFNA Golf Gala!

The 10th annual CFNA Golf Event was held on October 10 at the Greenbriar Hills Country Club.  The weather was fantastic as 112 participants headed out for 18 holes of golf. As in the past, the purpose was to raise awareness and support for the ministries of CFNA, albeit in a fun setting. The entire effort met with success, and as fellow golfer, Don Meyer put it: “It was a beautiful day, the course was great, and we very much enjoyed the fun and fellowship.”

Donations from more than 30 sponsors provided everything from beverages and a delicious box lunch to goodie bags and golf balls. New this year was an event towel sponsored by Bluetail Medical Group, Spartan Light Metal Products, Lutheran Federal Credit Union, KFUO Radio, Lutheran High School South, Thrivent, and Flooring Systems, Inc.

Event competitions included a closest-to-the-pin hole sponsored by Concordia Seminary, as well as two flights for winners, each with a first and second place award.

The After Event Program included a delicious roast ribeye dinner and a testimony (via video) provided by a recently arrived Afghan refugee who, together with his wife and three children, barely escaped Afghanistan with the Taliban hot on their heels. His riveting account, together with his heartfelt words of thanks to CFNA for all the assistance, encouragement, and hope they provided after the family’s arrival in St. Louis, was deeply meaningful to everyone.

Our thanks to all the participants, sponsors, volunteers, and especially to Kerry Pozaric and the members of the Event Committee, who worked so hard to make all this possible.
